  • Coat the fresh green beans in a little olive oil, then season with parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  • Lay the green beans in an even layer on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Roast at a high temperature (425 degrees F), making sure to stir/flip them about half way.

PRO TIP – Don’t overcrowd the beans! Try to put a little space between the beans so they don’t steam while roasting.

Can I Roast Frozen Green Beans?

I’m going to suggest sticking with FRESH green beans for this recipe. Frozen green beans have been flash boiled, which means they might be holding onto a little extra moisture, which would result in a little more of a soggy bean.

Make sure you trim the ends (remove the stems) of the green beans before coating with oil and the seasonings.

Best beans ever IMO. The cheese got crusty when my husband put the pan on a hot burner. That right there made the beans even better. Delicious! Even the dog liked them!

My beans and the parm cheese were burned black cooking at 425 for 25 min. I’m going to try 375 next time. They sound really good.

I use this once a week, it’s fantastic! The only adjustment I make is adding the cheese after the green beans have been tossed with the other ingredients. I find that if I toss the cheese with them, the cheese just ends up burned on the tray rather than melted on top!

  4. Can I use fresh yellow beans for this recipe? I have a lot from my garden that need used up. Thanks.

  5. 5 star recipe….what a great recipe…so easy, so delicious, so out of the ordinary….my new go to….thank you
