How To Make Big Mac Sauce
It’s actually super simple to whip up this homemade Big Mac Sauce, but you don’t want to skip the first step!
Grate The Onion
The first thing you’ll want to do is use a box grater to grate your yellow onion. This will allow the juices to release, while also making the onion easier to distribute the flavor into the sauce without cooking it.
If you use the small or medium grate on a cheese grater, it’ll be perfect.
PRO TIP: Remember to keep the juices from the onion, this adds great flavor to the finished sauce.
Combine Ingredients
All that’s left to do is combine all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir it together!
Is There Ketchup in Big Mac Sauce
It’s a common misconception that the orange-hue from the famous Big Mac Sauce comes from ketchup. In fact, there is no ketchup in big mac sauce.
The main ingredients for Big Mac Sauce include a good quality mayo, sweet pickle relish and mustard.
To achieve the right color and taste, you’ll want to make sure you stick with using a SWEET onion, SWEET pickle relish and a SWEET paprika. These crucial ingredients will give the sauce it’s sweet flavor, while the mustard and vinegar will balance it out with the tart.
How To Store Homemade Big Mac Sauce
Homemade Big Mac Sauce will store in the fridge for up to 7 days. I personally think the flavor gets better after a day or two of sitting in the fridge, allowing all the ingredients to mingle together.
I purchased these condiment bottles for storing my homemade sauces and they’re great! The wider opening makes it great for squeezing out the pickle relish in the big mac sauce.

Am I right in assuming for a family of your size you need to at least double the sauce ingredients?
I THINK this could impress my grandkids! (A very arduous task!)
