How To Make Bang Bang Chicken
This simple chicken recipe is super easy to throw together. Let me walk you through the simple steps for success every time.
Soak Skewers
The first and most important thing you’ll need to do is soak your wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes. This will help prevent your skewers from burning up in the air fryer or on the grill.
You could also use metal skewers and skip this step.
Marinate Chicken
Combine the cut chicken thighs, olive oil, soy sauce, honey and seasonings in a bowl and toss to coat. Cover and place the chicken in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, up to 24 hours.

Thread Chicken On Skewers
Thread the chicken pieces onto the wooden skewers – it’s ok if the chicken pieces are touching each other on the skewer.
Cooking Methods For Chicken Skewers
This recipe can be made in either the air fryer, grill, or oven!
My personal favorite method was cooking them in the air fryer because they came out with a deliciously charred outside and juicy and tender on the inside.
AIR FRYER
Place the chicken skewers in the basket of your air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, flipping the chicken skewers halfway through.
OVEN
Heat the oven to 425 degrees F. Place chicken skewers on a foil lined baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes, flip and cook an additional 10 minutes, or until browned and heated through (internal temperature should reach 165 degrees F).
GRILL
Heat grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken skewers for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they’re browned and cooked through.

Bang Bang Sauce
Bang Bang Sauce is a creamy and spicy-sweet, mayo-based sauce that is often used to coat chicken or shrimp, and is also used as a dip for fried potatoes.
Combine all the ingredients for the bang bang sauce in a small dish and whisk together.
Make Ahead and Storage
Bang Bang Sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.

What To Serve with Bang Bang Chicken
Easily turn this Bang Bang Chicken Skewers recipe into a full meal with some of these delicious side dishes…
