This Garlic Parmesan Pork Chop Recipe is super quick and easy to make with a crispy Parmesan crust on the outside.
I’m thrilled to be sharing another weeknight winning dinner recipe in partnership with Land O’Lakes. All you need are a few basic ingredients to make these super tasty, tender and flavorful pork chops.
Garlic Parmesan Pork Chop Recipe:
- Start by seasoning your boneless pork chops with salt and pepper.
- Dip the pork chops in an egg wash, then into a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.
- Sear the pork chops on both sides using a hot cast iron skillet and Land O Lakes® Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt.
- Finish the cooking in the oven until the pork chops have reached 145 degrees F internally.
Boneless Pork Chops or Bone-In Pork Chops?
For this recipe, we’re using boneless pork loin chops because they’re quicker to cooking, which is perfect for this simple weeknight dinner. I use a pork chop that is about 1/2″ thick, but you could use an even thicker chop.
If using a thinner pork chop: check the internal temperature before placing in the oven. If it’s at temperature (145 degrees F) already, you’ll want to skip the oven and just go ahead and enjoy!
Oven Baked Pork Chop Recipe
If you don’t want to sear the pork chops on the stove top before baking, you can skip that step, but I would recommend searing first. When you sear with the Land O Lakes® Butter with Olive Oil & Sea Salt it helps to give the outside coating a nice golden and buttery crust. Finishing in the oven will ensure that you don’t burn the outside of the pork chops before they get fully cooked on the inside.
What To Serve with Pork Chops?
- Simple Vegetable Rice Pilaf
- Steamed Green Beans
- Scalloped Potatoes
- Parmesan Roasted Broccoli
Recipe Tips and Variations:
- You can substitute a thin chicken breast for the pork chops if desired. Just be sure to cook to 165 degrees F.
- You can use either freshly grated Parmesan cheese or even the canned stuff!
- This recipe is best when served right away. I would not recommend making in advance.
- To reheat, you can use the oven or even the air fryer to regain the crispy coating.
You’re going to love how quickly this dinner is made. My whole family LOVES this simple recipe and we can’t get enough of that crispy Parmesan crust with the tender and juicy pork chop.

This recipe was so good. My husband and toddler were raving about it. I added some sautéed onions to the pan before I put it in the oven. Will definitely make it again.

We used thick pork chops (approximately 1.75 inch) which were delicious: very tender and moist. Definitely will make again the next time for friends. Also I like that it is so simple and easy to make. Thanks for recipe.

I got a recipe from your site for homemade parmesan garlic breadcrumbs and can’t find it now. I want to make them again and don’t remember what all was in the ingredients and how much of each one.
Would appreciate your help. Thanks
Kasey
Loved this recipe and thinking of making again.. would you consider this healthy or not so much due to cheese and butter?
Shawn
I don’t like to give out health advice, since all diets are different.

These were really delicious! I used super thin pork chops so I skipped the oven, they were perfect in the skillet! I added a little panko as well! Very good recipe!
Shawn
Fantastic! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
MelB
These were amazing! My picky 10 year old LOVED them!
Shawn
Yay! So great to hear!
Stephanie Pragert
Is there any way to make them without using the oven? Maybe just fry a little longer?
Shawn
If they’re pretty thin pork chops, you could definitely get away without the oven. 🙂

I used this on chicken since it was already thawed. I made the homemade garlic Parmesan crumbs, but used panko since that’s what I had. Just buzzed them in my mini food processor to make them finer then added the seasonings. Chicken was so crispy! Will do this with chops nex time.
Shawn
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

I don’t keep any bread crumbs in the house because hubby says they have the texture of sand. I always have Panko crumbs though. Would it make a huge difference if I use Panko? What herbs should I add to make them ‘Italian’. I can them give them a couple pulses in the mini food processor to combine them and break up the big flakes a bit.
Shawn
Panko crumbs should work, and yes, I would add some Italian Seasoning to it. Enjoy!

Wondering if I can omit the breadcrumbs for dietary reasons? Any ideas for low carb substitutes?
Shawn
You could use a low carb substitute, or omit them if you can’t eat them. This will change the flavor of the dish though.
Kayla
Great recipe! Easy and quick! What do you do with the leftover breadcrumbs mixture?
Shawn
If the crumbs have come in contact with the raw pork, you should toss them for food safety reasons.

Hi Shawn , Was just wondering are you supposed to use Parmesan out of the shaker container or fresh grates flakes?
Shawn
Either one will work. I personally like the one out the shaker for this recipe. 😉

Just made these for dinner tonight and the men in the family all said it was great! The only thing I did differently was I brined my chops for a couple hours before cooking.
Shawn
Great idea to brine the chops! I bet they were super tender!
Kathy Skogan
I used fresh parmesan as well as the one in the shaker, with double amount of both.
Shawn

I haven’t made this yet but I wanted to ask a question. I don’t have a cast iron skillet so what can I use in place of?
Shawn
Any oven safe skillet should work just fine! 🙂

Any tips in making sure it doesn’t turn out tough and dry?
I remember growing up my mom would make pork chops and it was always tough, dried out and hard to chew.
Shawn
Hi Janeen, yessss! You’ll want to make sure you use an instant read thermometer to check the temperature of the pork. The biggest problem is overcooking, which will make them dry and tough. So if your chops are on the thin side and come to temperature before you have to put them in the oven, then DON’T put them in the oven. But if they’re thicker, make sure you cook them till they reach about 140 degrees F.
Terry
How long to cook these in air fryer?
Shawn
I would start at 10 to 15 minutes and check if they’re cooked through.

This was absolutely delicious. I am so happy I found this blog. I have tried many blogs over the years and find that many recipes are too complicated or too hard to follow and I end up hating the meals I make. However, this blog is truly easy with great simple recipes and not a ton of ingredients my house is 4 for 4 of liking all your recipes so far!
Thank you!!!
Shawn
Wow Kalsey, thank you so much for your sweet comment! I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe and the others too. 🙂
Monique
Hi,
I really want to try this recipe. I don’t have a cast iron skillet. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Monique
Shawn
Hi Monique. You can still make this recipe in an oven safe skillet. If you do not have an oven safe skillet, you can use a regular skillet to sear the pork chops, then transfer the chops to a baking dish to finish baking in the oven. Hope that helps!
