This White Pita Pizza is a quick and delicious lunch recipe that’s filled with loads of flavor!
Have you ever been to California Pizza Kitchen and ordered their White Pizza?
It has a creamy white base then topped with spinach, and all sorts of yummy cheeses.
It. Is. Epic.
And then one day I wanted some of that epic goodness for lunch, but didn’t want to have to drive all the way there, so I created my own.
Instead of using pizza dough, I put all the elements of the White Pizza on some pita bread.
Yes sir, it was just as epic.
To make that creamy white pizza sauce I just took some creme fraiche and mixed it with some Gourmet Garden chunky garlic and oregano.
By using the fresh herbs from Gourmet Garden it really boosts the flavor of the sauce, and makes it like 10 times easier to whip together quickly.
Just spread the sauce on top of a few pieces of pita bread. And then grab a few different types of cheese…
I pretty much always have fresh Parmesan cheese in my fridge. {it’s a must}
Top the pizza with some Parmesan cheese, and Asiago cheese.
Lots and lots of cheese. Or not, if you’re on a diet.
But do it anyways, cause it’s good.
Then, cause we’re all health conscious, pile on the fresh baby spinach.
I love spinach. I really do. I no longer get regular old iceberg lettuce on my Subway sandwiches, just spinach. It’s full of vitamins and iron! Plus if it’s good enough for Pop Eye, it’s good enough for me!
After you have your spinach moment, throw on a few slices of fresh mozzarella.
Mmmm!
In a matter of minutes, you have yourself a California Pizza Kitchen knock-off.
And lunch.
Or dinner…
The pita bread works wonders as a pizza crust. It gets nice an crispy like a thin crust pizza. The creamy white sauce base with fresh oregano and garlic bring out a wonderful flavor that is sure to tickle your taste buds. All in all, this is an easily prepared lunch or dinner that will surely become one of your favorites!

I literally made this minutes ago for my two sisters and myself. I used ranch whipped with cream cheese for the base (white sauce), added slices of tomatoes, and used meuenster cheese. OH MY FREAKING GOSH! It was soooo good. I couldn’t believe it. It actually tasted legitimately like the pizza: the best pizza ever! And now my house smells like freshly baked pizza, aaah
Shawn
That’s awesome! I am so glad you guys enjoyed it. Your variations sound delicious too!! 🙂

Wow that looks terrific! I didn’t know you could even buy oregano & garlic
in tubes like that sounds great. It would give a lot more flavor to everything.
I’ve been using soft tortilla shells to make my individual pizza’s lately & they work
great since they are so thin. I just brush them with olive oil & put everything
on & bake 10 minutes they still get good & crispy.

Sounds amazing, I’ve never had a white pizza and do get fed up with a tomato based sauce all the time. Will have to try this, thanks.

I only eat white pizzas (w/or w/o sauce… just no red sauce blegh) this looks so so good
Shawn
I agree, although I would still eat red sauce if it’s the only option… but white is usually my first choice.
