Saturday Morning Roundup – Back To School Breakfast

I already showed you how I am packing lunch for the kid’s this year in this Saturday Morning Roundup about Bento Lunches. But ideas for a filling breakfast at the wee-hours of the morning are sometimes hard to come by.

I mean… you can only get your kids excited about cold cereal for so long before they start complaining.

That’s why for this Saturday Morning Roundup I am bringing you 10 great ideas to help your kids wake up and get pumped for school, and hey, maybe it’ll help you get on your way to work too!

With just a little prep you can be ready to feed your kids these hearty Breakfast Pockets from Budget Gourmet Mom.

Sometimes just switching up an old classic can get your kids happily on their way. Check out these adorable Pancake Skewers from Cookin’ Canuck.

These cute little Scrambled Egg Nests by Spoonful are adorable and an easy hand held breakfast.

My kids love oatmeal, so I know this Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal with Caramel Sauce from Cooking Classy would win them over any day.

Think ahead and bake a batch of muffins so they are ready to go in the morning. Try out these Blueberry & Walnut Oatmeal Muffin Tops that fit perfectly in your little one’s hands.

It doesn’t take long to throw together this delicious Sausage and Egg Breakfast Casserole from A Southern Fairytale, good thing too, cause who has spare time when there are shoes to be tied??

With Fall just around the corner, who could resist throwing in some more pumpkin?? This Pumpkin Coffee Cake from Crazy for Crust will surely have your munchkin skipping merrily to school!

No need to worry about running out of those store-bought Pop Tarts when you can make your own Homemade Pop Tarts from Domestic Rebel!

Speaking of breakfast pastries, let’s talk Toaster Strudels… making your own Strawberry & Cream Cheese Toaster Strudels has never been easier! The kids go ga-ga over these!

Sometimes it’s as simple as throwing together a delicious {and healthy} fruit smoothie. Find several smoothie recipes and how to make your own Freezer Smoothie Packets from Around My Family Table.

Hopefully now you have a few back-up breakfast ideas for when the kids start to complain about those Cheerio’s.

Do you have a favorite go-to early morning breakfast and want to share?

  1. Thanks so much for the feature, Shawn! Your bento lunch pics officially make me both hungry AND jealous–I’d flip for a fun, awesome lunch like that ANYDAY! Happy Saturday!! I’m off to bake some of these delish breakfast foods (pancake skewers? How cute!)

  2. Thanks for the feature Shawn! Mmmm….that coffee cake. Now I must make it. I love all these ideas. I managed to make a double batch of pancakes before school started. I froze them in packs of 4 and we’ve been working our way through them. Have a great weekend!
