How To Make Salmon Bowls

I find that the quickest and easiest way to prepare salmon is in the air fryer, but you could definitely prepare it in the oven, stove top or on the grill.

Just tap those links above to different salmon recipes I have and follow the cooking method in those to prepare your salmon if you don’t have an air fryer yet.

Season Salmon

Start by seasoning the salmon with just salt and pepper, then spritz with cooking spray.

Add the salmon to the basket of your air fryer on a sheet of parchment paper. This parchment paper allows the salmon to cook without sticking to your basket.

Air Fry Salmon

Cook the salmon at 400 degrees for just 10 to 12 minutes.

Salmon is considered “safe to eat” when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. Although, I prefer my salmon a little less cooked than that so it doesn’t get dried out.

You want your salmon still moist and tender, flaking easily with a fork.

Prepare Honey Ginger Dressing

While the salmon is cooking in the air fryer, you can prepare the simple honey ginger dressing.

Combine the ingredients in a small dish and whisk to combine, or use a dressing shaker bottle or even a mini blender to make the dressing extra creamy.

Combine Salmon Bowl

Assemble your salmon bowl by first placing the rice inside the bowl, followed by the veggies and cooked salmon.

Drizzle the dressing over the salmon and veggies and enjoy!

Make Ahead and Storage

These salmon rice bowls are great for meal prepping.

Salmon can be cooked and stored in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. I prefer the salmon freshly cooked when it’s warm, but this bowl can also be served chilled.

The Honey Ginger dressing can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks, making it a great option for making ahead of time, streamlining the process.

I cooked the salmon as directed, but made a few changes to the rice and veggies. I stir fried some cauliflower rice with onion/garlic/seasonings and served the salmon over top. Instead of shredding the carrot, I just cut them up julienne style. I didn’t have any cucumber so I omitted it. Overall, it was pretty good and lower in carbs. 🙂
