A few weeks ago I was at my friend’s house for a girl’s night, and we were talking treats.
She and her husband are Australian, and he pretty much raved to no end about how awesome this classic Australian treat called, “Yum Yum Balls,” was.
Yum Yum Balls…
Sounded interesting enough.
Since the name doesn’t really tell you much, besides the fact that they are yummy and in the shape of a ball, I’m calling them Chocolate Coconut Cookie Truffles.
Much more informative. Still just as delicious.
The truffles are super simple to make, and only require 4 ingredients.
Cocoa powder, cookie crumbs, sweetened condensed milk, and coconut.
If you want to make this a classic Australian dessert, you’ll need to find “Marie Biscuits” for the cookie crumb part. They are similar to a digestive biscuit, or an arrowroot cookie (the ones for babies to chew on). You can also use graham cracker crumbs, nilla wafer crumbs, etc.
Combine all the ingredients into a bowl, mix together, shape into balls, roll in coconut, done.
These truffles hold up to their classic name. They truly are yummy.
So yummy, you can say it twice. 😉
I am putting them on my Christmas list of cookies to make and pass out to friends this year.
