Let me paint you a picture…
It’s a nice, {slightly chilly} fall evening, and the sun is just about to set off in the distance.
You have a group of family and friends coming over and you are looking for a fun way to entertain them on this gorgeous night.
Then it hits you! Campfire Tarts!
You light up the fire-pit, crack open a few cans of pie filling, set out some whip cream and grab those ever-handy canned biscuits.
Tonight it is all about friends, family, and good food. All while enjoying the comforting warmth of the crackling fire. You are sure to be labeled the hostess with the mostess!
Who needs S’mores when you have these amazing Tart Makers from Tarts On Fire? With the stainless steel cup that screws onto the wooden handled, stainless steel rod, these Tart Makers are a first class campfire treat.
You’ve probably never seen anything like this before.
It’s the brain child of my husband’s best friend. This guy means so much to us, he is practically family. He was my husband’s best man in our wedding! So when I begged he asked me to review and give away a set of these Tart Makers on my blog, of course I jumped at the chance.
We are a huge camping family. With so many children, it’s practically all we can afford at times. These Tart Makers will be in our camping box for many years to come. Not only that, I am super excited to have friends over this Fall to enjoy these in our new fire-pit!
When we tried them out I just opened a few cans of pie filling, along with some toasted coconut and nut topping, for filling in the tart shells. Can’t forget some whip cream! And who doesn’t love chocolate syrup and caramel sauce?
These are so simple to assemble. Just take a small biscuit and mold it around the upside-down stainless steel cup.
Just like you would a marshmallow, slowly roast the biscuit over the fire.
What is so nice about these Tart Makers is that the thin, but sturdy, stainless steel cup is hollow and a great conductor of heat. So the insides of the tarts get cooked evenly and you’re not left with raw dough on the inside.
Check out those tarts! The kids totally and completely loved these.
I am talking, IN. LOVE.
It’s still over 100 degrees outside here, and these kiddos had no quarries about sitting by a fire to roast some canned biscuits!
Want to know what’s even cooler? These Tart Makers are not just a one-trick-pony!
The stainless steel cup can be screwed off, and the stick becomes the perfect marshmallow roaster or hot dog cooker!
Pure Genius!
The options for filling these one-of-a-kind tart shells are endless as well.
Let your mind wander into the realms of savory if you will…
I’m thinking a big pot of chili, with all the fixin’s on the side. Spoon it into a warm tart shell…blissful!
What about some macaroni and cheese tartlets for the kids? Yup- incredible!
I know what you’re thinking… the sweets are good too!
And I bet you’re just dying to get some for your family right!??!

I would love these with some dulce de leche and chocolate. Or maybe I could figure out a peanut butter and chocolate filling with marshmallow. Or maybe banana and pudding. There are really a lot of options, aren’t there?

These are great! I would probably do some savory ones first – Mexican with beans, rice and cheese or a breakfast one with scrambled eggs and sausage….then the sweet ones with some fresh berries and whipped cream. You are right – possibilities are endless!

Everyone has such great ideas for fillings! Tarts On Fire…not just for tarts anymore!:) We will definitely have to post some these great filling ideas on the website!!

My first thought was cherry pie filling, then I read someones post about mini cheese burgers and that sounded great! So I would do a mini cheese burger for dinner and then a cherry pie for desert. That means I get to eat TWO! (or three or four, cause I don’t think I could stop with just one!) Very neat concept…

We would totally put dulce de leche, vanilla pudding and caramelized bananas in that tart. It’s like a little banana pudding pie!

These look adorable. I would fill with cannoli filling and top with mini chocolate chips and sprinkles and maybe some powdered sugar for good measure.

My kids would love these! They look like lots of fun. I think we would try cherry or blueberry pie filling.

Wow! Great Idea. I think a “Make your own campfire tart” type buffet would be fun. It’s a great idea for tailgating. I would add a sweet and savory variety of items to the buffet. I think chili would be awesome or mini meatballs and grated cheese. Roll the dough in cinnamon, roast it and fill with apple pie filling. Oreo and Banana Jello puddings! Chocolate ice cream or just chocolate whipped cream. I could go own forever with the ideas. My family would love this.
carrian
ohhhhh a yummy chili or a sweet dough with marionberries and ice cream! BOOYAH!
Kelda Toliver
That is amazing and I would have you fill them for me. Lol I would love anything in them from sweet to savory. And Dad would like anything spicy.
