I’ve been mentioning it all week… school is just around the corner.
No more sleeping in, no more late nights filled with popcorn and movies, no more throwing caution to the wind, no more summer break.
This year I have two little munchkins heading off to school. One sweet girl who is growing up extremely fast, too fast. She’s my rock at home. The “second mom”, if you will. Always there to help out with her brother and little sisters.
As she heads off to 3rd grade I have to remember that she is still only 7. And while she tries to conquer the world by herself, she still needs her mama to tuck her in at night.
Then there is my rock star. My little man. My one and only boy. This is his first year of school. The “big K.”
I am so excited/nervous/happy/scared for him. It’s a big change in his life. He’s so used to having me around him non-stop, all-day, 24/7….ok, he’s probably more anxious to ditch me then I am to lose him. But no matter what I will be there for him, and he knows it.
Sometimes it’s important to make sure your kids know these things. To let them know they are so very special to you. What better way to show them, then with a Hallmark card? I know my kids eyes get 3 times their normal size when they receive mail.
It’s epic.
Last month when I attended EVO Conference, Hallmark happened to be a sponsor. They had a wonderful booth set up where they had all sorts of inspirational and encouragement cards for kids. We were able to pick out cards and send them to our little loved ones.
You bet their eyes nearly popped out of their heads when the mail arrived.
They also sent everyone home with their newest gadget. Text Bands.
These bands wrap around your wrist and allow you to send personalized texts between bands. The best part? In order to get your message from one band to the next, you have to high-five, fist-bump, or just bump the bands together!
My kids love these things! They are so fun easy to use.
And guess what?
Hallmark wants to give a pair of these fun Text Bands away to one lucky I Wash…You Dry reader!
GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED!
On top of these innovative bands, they are also throwing in a pack of five assorted Hallmark Kids Encouragement greeting cards, and a Hallmark Gold Crown coupon for $2 off of three greeting cards!

Okay, PLEASE don’t tell me that school is just around the corner. But these are super cute. Um, favourite year of school? Grade 7, I think, when I started at a new all-girls school and found the best bunch of friends I’ve ever had.

My favorite year of school was probably my junior year. Upperclassman, lots of fun, without the serious and scariness of senior/preparing for college. 🙂
