Peanut Butter and Chocolate Popcorn Crunch Mix
I am in LOVE with this super easy sweet popcorn mix!
Not only are Reese’s Puff Cereal one of my favorites (who can resist a peanut butter and chocolate cereal??), but when it’s combined with this sweet popcorn it’s incredible! It’s basically the perfect MOVIE NIGHT TREAT!!
I’ve teamed up with General Mills Big G to let you know that this summer, specially marked boxes of General Mills Big G cereals will include codes to download a free movie. (two codes are needed to redeem a free movie)
There are several awesome family friendly movies that everyone can enjoy. Free movies include: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Night at the Museum , Anastasia, Home Alone 2, Marmaduke, Dr. Dolittle, We Bought a Zoo, Mr. Poppers Penguins. It’s perfect timing with the kids out of school because they can help make an awesome treat and then enjoy some family time while you watch your free movie!
Ingredients for Peanut Butter Popcorn Mix
Here’s a basic list of the ingredients you’ll need to make this gooey treat!
- Popped Popcorn – you can pop it on the stove top, or use microwave popped popcorn
- Reese’s Puff Cereal
- Honey
- Sugar
- Peanut Butter
- Vanilla Extract
- Melting Chocolates
- Reese’s Pieces Candy
How To Make Gooey Popcorn Mix
This popcorn was so simple to make and everyone gobbled it up. It’s basically a peanut butter and chocolate lover’s dream come true.
- Combine the popcorn and Reese’s Puffs in a large bowl, then set aside. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a small pot heat the honey and sugar and bring to a boil, then let boil for just 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter and vanilla until smooth. Pour over the popcorn mix and stir to coat. Pour out onto the lined baking sheet into an even layer to cool.
- Melt the melting chocolates according to package instructions and then drizzle over the cooled popcorn, then sprinkle with the Reese’s Pieces candies.
I loved how the little Reese’s Puffs gave a big crunch while the peanut butter caramel stayed on the softer and gooey side.
I should mention that it’s not a gooey, stick-to-my-fingers-type-of-gooey, but a soft caramel type of gooey that is slightly pliable but doesn’t stick.
A little drizzle of chocolate and a shower of Reese’s Pieces give this crunch mix the perfect finishing touch.
More Popcorn Mixes To Try
Here are a few more of our favorite popcorn mixes that are sure to bring a smile to your face…
One of my favorite things about General Mills Big G cereals is that they have Whole Grains as the first ingredient and include no high fructose corn syrup. In fact, I was telling my friend that the other day and even showed her the box to prove it. She was pleasantly surprised. 🙂
Now here is that awesome popcorn recipe you’re craving…
