Jenny over at Picky Palate is always bursting with delicious ideas. These Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies were no exception! She uses an incredible chocolate chip cookie recipe and smashes an Oreo right in between for one knock-out cookie!
Now, if you have a tried and true chocolate chip cookie recipe, by all means use that. But this one was perfect. Probably had something to do with the 2 sticks of butter…
Just sayin…
So here’s the line-up of what you’ll be needing. This is a great recipe to do with the kids, so get them involved!
Once you have your cookie dough ready you’ll form two small balls per cookie.
Grab an Oreo.
Make it a Double Stuff.
Please.
Put one cookie dough ball on top, and one on the bottom.
Smush the cookie dough together on the sides, being careful not to break the Oreo inside. Pinch the sides closed.
Place them on a Silpat or Parchment paper. Make sure to space them evenly…they are huge cookies!!
Then sit back and watch the show.
Ok Mom’s, I have a real quick issue I need to discuss. My son {bless his heart} is the only boy with 3 sisters. He’s all boy; loves dirt, trucks, tools, cars, Lego’s, and video games. With one exception.
He loves pink.
We have these cute little kid size plates that come in an assortment of colors. Pink happens to be one of them. And oh boy will he throw a fit if he doesn’t get a pink plate, with a pink fork, and a pink cup.
I try to push blue, or green on him to no avail.
So what do I do? Let him love pink {it is my favorite color}, or do I keep pushing for more masculine colors?
Ok- back to cookies…
{I love these little therapy sessions}
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before removing them to cool completely on a wire rack.
It’s basically 3 cookies in 1, so make sure you have your stretchy pants handy.
Oh and a big glass of cold milk washes it all down. {yes, even your guilt}
So be sure to catch the whole recipe over at Picky Palate!

This recipe sounds unbelievable. I’m already a Double Stuff addict, and I am looking forward to making matters worse! 😉
Let your son be himself. I have three children, 15 – 22, whom I adore. There are many things about them that made me crazy when they were little (and some that still do). But they are good, hard-working, loving human beings who love each other and who love their parents. To me, that’s all that counts.

Laura- Thanks for your concern. I never make him feel ashamed of the colors he choses, I let him be who he wants to be. I think he choses pink over other colors because he has three sisters, so I know eventually he will move on to more masculine colors. One thing is for sure, I love him to death! Thanks for your comment!

I think it is really sad that you would try to change your little boy's preference for pink. It may seem innocent for you to try to get him to like "more masculine" colors, but you are teaching him that there is something wrong with him and that you don't accept him the way he is. He will internalize this and feel the need to suppress his true self to conform to your and society's notions of how a boy "should" be.

Amazing! This really looks delicious and easy to make. I'm definitely craving for a plate of that right now. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe. This is definitely a must do recipe this weekend since I got my Alcohol Training.

oh let him like pink…the more you push the other, the more he will push back. This is not a battle worth fighting, it's because he has 2 older sisters. My nephew loved all things girlie (because of 2 older sisters) until he was about 6..he is now 14 and as masculine and "boy" as they come!

I see what you mean Shawn (it's Shawn right?) 🙂 Isn't it funny how many things there are to worry about when it comes to your kids?! Being a mommy is still my favorite job! 🙂

seriously ignore it and let him love pink, especially now while he isn't influenced not to by peer pressure. it's probably a phase and i think if you draw extra attention to it you might make it an issue when to him it's not.

Register- My little 20 month old girl is showing all the signs of being a lefty too! I think that's cute. But when the lady at the grocery store asks my son what color balloon he wants and he says, "Pink!" it's a tad embarassing! LOL

Tricia from BNNB sent me over. These look naughty good! I am so making them! As far as the pink thing I think it is co cute! My little girl is 2 1/2 and insists on being left-handed and I have been told it might make life harder for her because some things are not left friendly, but what can you do? Buy a left handed can opener I guess….?

The cookies look amazing! I may be making these soon.
Let him use the pink plate… it's important to let them be themselves and it's just a color.
