If I had to pick my all time favorite dessert it would be a cheesecake.
Any sort of cheesecake will do. I’m crazy about the tangy taste of the cheesecake, but not so thrilled at how long it takes to make a cheesecake. In fact, I hate making cheesecakes because it takes for-ev-er.
So, to continue with my “Birthday Week” theme, I decided to make one heck of a cheesecake – in dip form.
It had to include that delicious cake batter taste with the tanginess of a cheesecake, and of course SPRINKLES!
But more importantly, it had to be made in less than 10 minutes.
Winning!
This Cheesecake Cake Batter Dip is perfect for when you have unexpected guests, a treat for a baby shower, girl’s night, and of course – for BIRTHDAY’S!!
When I was younger my sister and I used to get those tubs of cream cheese frosting and dip graham crackers in it for a late night snack. This dip brings me back to those long nights of girl talk and giggles.
If you’re a cheesecake and cake batter fan, then you’ll love this super quick, {no bake, no egg, no butter} Cheesecake Cake Batter Dip. It’s amazing with graham crackers {for that graham cracker crust taste}, but also great with pretzels, and even apple slices too!

How many people can this recipe serve? I am thinking of serving this at a Christmas party. Thanks!
Kim
Love it! What a great idea. I came across your recipe on Pinterest and bookmarked it for later. Well tonight was later! 🙂 It brought back memories or when my mom used to put Dunkaroos in my lunch box. Thanks so much for sharing this with us! 🙂

Hi there everyone, it’s my first pay a quick visit at this website, and piece of writing is in fact fruitful for me, keep up posting
these content.
Steven
Hey there! I made this and it went down a treat but I think I did it a bit wrong, instead of it being light and fluffy, it was more liquidy, how would you suggest thickening it up?
Shawn
Hi Steven, I’m not sure how it was more on the liquid side, maybe your sour cream was a little runny? If that happens again, you can try adding more powdered sugar to stiffen it up. Hope that helps! Thanks! 🙂
Steven
Much obliged i’ll try that next time 🙂
Steven
Worked a treat, didn’t add enough sugar last time!

At this time it sounds like Movable Type is the best
blogging platform out there right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you are using on your
blog?
Andrea
I came across this posting on Pinterest and had to immediately repin it. After following it to your blog I have now added your blog to my bookmark bar. This is a great blog. I can’t wait to go through it more to look at more of your recipes! I also can’t wait to find an excuse to make this. Would it be terrible if I just made it for myself? 🙂
Also just out of curiosity, do you think you could cut the sour cream with Greek yogurt or do you think that would make it taste awful?
Shawn
Awesome, thanks Andrea! Comments like these seriously make my day! 🙂
And yes, totally legit to make it for yourself… hehe, never hurts to spoil yourself once in a while. As for the sour cream, substituting with Greek Yogurt could definitely work, it probably wont taste exactly the same, but still really good. I use Greek Yogurt to sub for sour cream a lot, and it usually works with great success.

It looks like you have attracted a pretty good following these days.
I’m delighted for you!
Patty
Thanks Shawn! A friend of mine pisted this on Facebook. I re-pinned. Hope you don’t mind.
Rosie
I love cheesecake and this sounds delicious. I have a similar recipe, but use the Kroger brand graham cracker stix for dipping.
Sarah
So happy to find this! I was looking for one more snack for my son’s birthday party. It’s “duck dynasty” theme though so we will be leaving out the colorful sprinkles and drizzling some Carmel on top.
🙂
Ashley @ Wishes and Dishes
I still need to try this one!!! I already know I’m going to be addicted to it!
Misty Whitman
I’m going to make this for a little girls’ sleepover that we’re hosting tomorrow. It looks amazing! I just hope my Hubby doesn’t try to to eat it all! (He will) 🙂
Olivia
Hi Shawn! How long is this dip good for? Could I make it the day before and refrigerate it?
Shawn
Hi Olivia, you can definitely make it a day before and store it in the fridge. I would let it sit on the counter for at least 20-30 minutes before serving since the cream cheese could get hard in the fridge. It could last up to a week in the fridge. 🙂
Anjea
This is SO good! I just made it for a party tonight. The only thing I had to change was add a little milk to make it just a bit thinner. The flavor was perfect! Thanks so much. 🙂
Tonya
Where in the world did u get a mini triffle bowl??
Shawn
Tonya, my husband got them for me last year for Mother’s Day! (He got them at Walmart) I believe they came in a set of four, and are called parfait dishes. 🙂
Stella
Will definitely try this! Do you know if it’s safe to eat powdered cake mix though? I’ve never tried or used it in this way so I was just wondering. Thanks!
Shawn
Totally safe! It’s just a combination of flour, sugar, and other basic ingredients like baking powder, salt, etc. What you would want to be cautious of is a recipe that uses raw eggs. This recipe does not use any raw eggs, so you are all good! 🙂
Bonnie
This may sound dumb, or I could be having a moment… so for the cake mix, do I just scoop out the dry mix or do I make it into the batter first?
TIA!! Can’t wait to try cheese cake is my favorite too 🙂
Shawn
No question is dumb! It would just be the powdered mix for this recipe. I keep a small container of it for fun recipes like this, that way I don’t waste any. 🙂 Hope you enjoy it!
Bonnie
Thank you so much 🙂
Georgia
It’s my week to bring a “treat” to the office, so I am grateful I came across this site. Do you know how many the recipe serves as is?
Stephanie
I was wondering the same thing, I tried to picture how much it’d make based on the ingredients, and I think I’m going to double it. bringing it to a bbq
Tiffany
Would it be possible to lighten by using neufchatel and reduced fat sour cream?
Shawn
Hi Tiffany! Yes, that could definitely work! It’s also great with apple slices too! 🙂
Sarah
Perfect idea! But since I live in Denmark, the ingredients won’t be precisely the same, so some questions: could I use creme-fraiche instead of sour cream? And the cake mix… Any specifik one? Luckily I buy vanilla extract when in the States, but seeing as luggage space is limited, and I’m only there once a year, the rest I’ll have to find here… But am so making this, I love cheesecake, but hate all the prep;)
Shawn
Hi Sarah, the sour cream is perfect for giving it that cheesecake tang. While creme fraiche is a similar consistency, it probably won’t give you the tang you are after. That being said, it could still work, just won’t be exactly the same taste as with sour cream. I went with a white cake mix, but you can use a funfetti or yellow cake mix too. Let me know how it turns out with the creme fraiche if you still make it. 🙂
Denise
Going out this morning to get stuff for my son’s birthday party tomorrow. Might have to throw the ingredients for this on my list. I think the kids would love it. Thanks :-). Very happy I found your recipes. I have spent the last hour looking at all of your stuff. Should be doing other things, but this is much more fun.
libertyonless
I love finding new ways to use funfetti/cake batter! I just looked at the Oreo cake batter blondies too and can’t decide what to try first! I’m so glad I found your blog!

Cake batter/funfetti is one of my favorite things, so to combine it with teh creaminess of cheesecake is right up my alley.

Wow! I ADORE cheesecake. really, like, any kind. really. And this is simply genius! I feel I’d have to take no more than 5 bites and then sadly walk away from the bowl. It’s almost Friday! 🙂
Shawn
