Oh yeah…. can you just taste this or what!?
This is my Fire Blazing Spicy Diablo Turkey Burger!
Diablo sauce is usually found on pastas and is made with spicy red peppers, garlic, basil and oregano. This is a variation of the “Diablo” for a turkey burger {you can also use chicken if you prefer}.
3 roasted red bell peppers sliced (if you need directions on how to do this click here)
Start off with your ground turkey in a big mixing bowl.
Add the basil, garlic, red pepper flakes, and oregano. Mix with your hands till the ingredients are evenly distributed. Divide the mixture into 4 balls, and form into patties about 3/4 of an inch thick.
Here is a little tip on making the perfect burgers!
To prevent the burger from taking a dome shape when grilling, use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make a 1/2 inch indention in the middle of the patty.
Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.
Now we are ready for the grill!
Make sure it’s pre-heated, scrubbed clean and ready to go!
You’ll want to cook these at medium-high heat for about 5-6 minutes on each side.
Pull your burgers off the grill and enjoy their beauty!

Don’t stare at them too long! You’ll want to actually eat these things you know!
To assemble this guy I used those delicious whole grain sandwich flats, with a little bit of Olive Oil Mayo. Next I laid down a piece of green leaf lettuce, the burger, then topped with my roasted red bell peppers.

Ingredients
- For the Turkey Burgers:
- 1 lb. ground Turkey {or Chicken}
- 1/4 cup non fat Greek Yogurt
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp finely diced onion or shallot
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 tsp poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Burger Toppings:
- Sliced onion
- Lettuce
- Sliced Tomato
- 4 soft burger buns
Instructions
- Combine the turkey burger ingredients in a large bowl and mix until combined. Divide the mixture into 4 balls, and form into patties about 3/4 of an inch thick.

I haven’t tried this recipe yet. The basil, garlic, red pepper flakes and oregano mentioned at the top of this article are not mentioned at all in the recipe ingredients. It would be nice to know what quantities you recommend. Thanks!

I love the burgers but I have read the steps and the ingredients at least a doz times and nowhere does it mention red peppers in the ingredients list, I see it in the pictures but nowhere else.

The red peppers are added as an optional topping. I don’t have it listed in the ingredients list, but you could definitely add them!

The flavor was awesome, my hubby loved them. It seemed like it needed breadcrumbs or something, they were very wet and I had a hard time keeping them together as they cooked.

You could try the bread crumbs or some egg. It might change the texture of the meat a little. Hope this helps!
