Let’s get real for a second. Being a mom to 4 kids and a full time work-at-home mom is no joke.

I’m on all. the. time.

I’m guessing you know the feeling.

Between making breakfast, getting kids ready for school, work, making snacks for hungry kids, helping with homework, more work, making dinner (do these kids ever stop wanting food?!), when do you get time for yourself? It’s so important to take even just a small moment to breathe and unwind.

It can help bring clarity to your day, leaving you relaxed and recharged.

So how do you relax?

That’s the million dollar question!

My favorite way to get a little me-time is to let the kids play in the yard while I quietly sit on my porch swing and enjoy a cold and crisp Canada Dry® Ginger Ale along with a little snack.

I love browsing Pinterest on my phone, or catching up on my favorite magazines while I sip, sit and relax. It doesn’t have to be a long time, just a 5 minute break is all it takes. Though I won’t be upset if I get 30. 😉

Don’t have a porch swing? No problem! Here are some super easy ways to get in your #MeMoment:

  • Take the kids to the park and sit on the bench while they play
  • Sneak away to the other room while the kids are watching a show
  • Get a baby sitter or take the kids to a friend’s house
  • Turn off the TV, open the window and enjoy the breeze
  • Go for a kid-free drive across town

  1. My ‘ME MOMENT’ is due any day now. The children are on their own . So, the doggies, Alice and Annie will be sitting on the back porch with me all curled up together watching their”Daddy” plant me some good big boy tomatoes. When he is finished he will join me, Annie, Alice and a Canada Dry Ginger Ale with just a nice portion of Wild Turkey and a few ice cubes. Now doesn’t that sound like a real southern evening together?! Just the thought of the prize money makes want some ginger ale right now. Thanks for letting me chat a bit with all of you.
