I wish I could say that I get up bright and early every morning to pack my husband a filling and healthy lunch for his long day at work, but I don’t. It’s not because I don’t want to, I just can’t seem to drag myself out of bed before the sun rises to throw two pieces of bread together with whatever ingredients I can find through my groggy and sleepy eyes. I don’t know how he can get up so early and still function properly.
It’s just not in my DNA.
Luckily for him, I happen to be a food blogger. So yeah, he does get spoiled with a few delicious recipes now and then.
Honestly, most of the time he is forced to eat “leftovers” from a recipe I made for the blog, and lucky for me he doesn’t usually mind. So in order to maintain my trophy wife status and catch up on my beauty sleep, I pack him one heck of a lunch the night before.
I am in love with Glad’s entree size food storage containers. They are the perfect size for building a healthy and well balanced lunch on the go. Since Glad is microwavable, my husband can quickly heat up his drool-worthy lunch in a flash.
One of my favorite new food storage containers is Glad’s, “Glad To Go Lunch” container.
Um….Hellooooo Lover!! This is probably the coolest thing since sliced bread.
They have cleverly figured out a way to stow a mini Glad storage container IN. THE. LID. of the larger Glad storage container!!
Say goodbye to soggy salads and hello to perfectly crisp lunches with dressing on the side. I love the automatic portion control. I’m a dressing kind-of-gal and tend to get a bit carried away with it. The little Glad container is a perfect 1.5 ounces {just what I need to help keep me in check for swim suit weather}.
Not only do these cute little cups fit in the To Go Lunch containers, but they also fit the entree size as well. That’s because all their lids are interlocking, so you can stack them together and they won’t get lost your cupboards.
They seriously think of everything.
Remember those Strawberry Greek Yogurt Pancakes I showed you last week?
Yup – easily transported, syrup and all. It’s a great way to bring breakfast to a friend or neighbor without all the fuss of multiple containers.
One big tip I have for you when prepping a hot lunch is to let your food cool down to room temperature before putting the lid on it. If you throw on the lid while it’s still hot it could build up too much moisture inside and result in soggy food. Once it’s cooled down, put on the lid, place it in the fridge, and it’s ready for you or your husband to grab for tomorrow’s lunch.
