Oreo Truffles

Oreo Truffles!
White chocolate truffles in a mini cupcake liners displayed on a dish.

I came across this delicious sounding recipe at Made Famous By that called for two of my most favorite things: Oreos and White Chocolate.

A stack of Oreos next to white chocolate melts.

It sounded simple enough and I was just dying to try it out.

I was visiting family up in Utah and I thought it would be fun to try it out on them {’cause let’s face it, if I made these at my house I’d end up eating the whole lot}!

They turned out amazing! They are so gorgeous to look at, and even better to eat!

Enough talk…let’s make…

Hands crushing Oreos in a ziplock bag.

Start by crushing a whole bag (minus 5) of Oreos.

I put them in a zip-close bag and used my hands, but it might actually be easier to use a food processor.

A spoon adding frosting to a bowl.

Once the cookies are crumbled, place them in a large bowl and add cream cheese frosting. {note: the original recipe calls for just cream cheese…but hey, I have a sweet tooth to satisfy!}

Mix until combined.

Small balls of crushed Oreo mix on a pan.

Form the mixture into 1/2 inch to 1 inch balls, and place on wax paper. Put these guys into the freezer for about 30 minutes to harden up.

Meanwhile melt half the white chocolate according to the package instructions.

Once your cookie ball is nice and firm, place it in the nice warm chocolate bath. {can I join?}

I found it easiest to roll the ball around with tooth-pics. Carefully pick it up between the tooth-pics and place the covered ball onto wax paper to dry. {this takes mad-skills}

This first bath was just a little “crumb coating.”

After they hardened again {throw them in the freezer for another 10 minutes}, they are ready for bath number 2!

Melt the other half of your white chocolate {clean bowl please- we are looking for presentation here}

Beautiful!

Crush up the remaining 5 cookies for garnish…

{Please stop licking the screen…compose yourself!}

You can pack these up and show someone how much they really mean to you… or…

Just take a bite already!!

I know you want to make these… so simple!

  1. I've seen these before, and always think I've got to make those! These really do look great!

  2. I have been making these for years-I love them. I usually do a batch in white chocolate, and one in dark chocolate. I use the opposite chocolate and drizzle on top of the truffle instead of cookie crumbs. I food processor makes this a breeze!!! These are always a hit-and dangerous to have around the house!
