Heat oil over med-high heat on stove top to 350 degrees F. {or you can use a deep fryer}.
In a shallow bowl mix together flour and milk. Once well combined add eggs, cream, sugar, salt and vanilla with a whisk.
Slice bread into 1-1½ inch sticks. Feel free to remove the crust if desired.
Dip bread into batter and let excess drip off, place in hot oil and turn occasionally till golden brown. Don't crowd the pot, only fry a few sticks at a time.
Remove sticks from oil once golden brown on both sides. Approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Place on a paper towel lined plate to cool slightly. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Each serving is about 6 french toast strips.FREEZE & REHEAT: Store cooled french toast sticks in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Reheat in air fryer @ 350 degrees F. until heated through and crisp for the best consistency.
