Bring a medium pot of water to a boil, add in the green beans and cook until they're bright green in color and tender, about 5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the boiling water and place them in a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking.
Once the green beans are removed from the boiling water, add in the potatoes and cook until they're fork tender, about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high, cook the bacon pieces until they're browned and crispy. Use the slotted spoon to remove the bacon from the skillet and place on a paper towel lined plate, set aside.
Carefully drain the potatoes and add them to the pan with the bacon drippings. Stir frequently, browning the potatoes on all sides. Once browned, reduce heat to medium and add in the butter, green beans, ranch seasoning and garlic powder. Stir everything together, coating all the items evenly.
Finally, add back in the bacon and season with salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy.
